What is the fiber laser cutting machine?
Fiber laser cutting machine adopts fiber laser source, featuring high photoelectric conversion efficiency, fast cutting speed, high precision and low thermal deformation. It can process various metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum plate, copper plate and galvanized sheet. Widely used in sheet metal, engineering machinery, kitchenware, advertising signage and other industries.
Working principle
The fiber laser source generates laser by pumping ytterbium-doped fiber. The laser is delivered through optical fiber to the cutting head, then focused by lens into a tiny light spot with high energy density. When the spot hits the metal workpiece surface, the material melts or vaporizes instantly. Meanwhile, coaxial auxiliary gas (oxygen /nitrogen/compressed air) blows away molten slag. The CNC system controls the cutting head moving along pre-set graphic paths to realize non-contact metal cutting.

Key Advantages of Metal Sheet Fiber Laser Cutter
High Cutting Precision: Narrow kerf, tiny dimensional error, smooth cutting edge to save secondary polishing work.
Fast Cutting Speed: Higher processing efficiency than traditional machines at the same power to boost productivity.
Low Energy Consumption & Cost Saving: High photoelectric conversion rate, low power usage, simple daily maintenance and fewer consumables.
Minimal Thermal Deformation: Concentrated heat and small heat-affected zone to avoid warping on thin plates.
Cut Complex Shapes: Direct cutting from CAD drawings, no mould required, fast switch between workpieces.
Wide Metal Material Compatibility: Works for carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloy, brass, red copper, galvanized sheet, etc.
Stable & Easy Maintenance: No optical lenses in fiber laser source, low wear, long service life and low failure rate.
How to choose your suitable machine?
1. Confirm Materials & Max Cutting Thickness: Core selection basis: thicker plates need higher laser power. Special process is recommended for high-reflective metals like aluminum and copper.
2. Max Sheet Size: Select worktable according to sheet dimension, e.g. 3015 (3000×1500mm), 4020 (4000×2000mm). Reserve extra space for loading.
3. Calculate Daily Production Capacity: High-speed model preferred for mass thin-plate production. Choose machine with proper power margin for variable orders.
4. Workshop & Power Supply Check: Check site space, load capacity and stable 380V industrial power, reserve position for dust remover.
5. Budget & Operating Cost: Not only machine price, but also power cost, spare parts and maintenance expense.

Our factory has wanted to try laser cutting for ages. This new machine runs much faster than our old plasma equipment. We keep plasma cutters for processing thick plates.

Lots of peers recommended laser cutting machines, so we decided to buy one this year. The working speed is outstanding. Plasma cutting still performs better on thicker materials.

We spent a long time learning about laser cutting solutions. After putting this machine into use, we can feel the obvious speed improvement over plasma cutting.
